Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson spoke to the media ahead of their 2019-20 QNB Stars League Week 9 match against Al Wakrah.
“We still have the opportunity to get back to the top-four bracket. I think we are on track and we did well against Al Rayyan (in Week 8). Al Wakrah game is important for us.
“Al Wakrah are a good side. We had played two friendly matches against them and lost both. I know their coach very much, he manages the team well.
“Our team is developing technically. The onus is on the players to perform on the pitch. Some of them play without pressure and some play with pressure. We have to exhibit the same level with which we played against Al Rayyan in order to win.
“Players’ mindset and their desire to achieve the best results have big roles to play. I would like to thank our fans for supporting the team,” said Hallgrimsson.
Al Arabi player Yousef Abdulrazaq said, “We are responsible to implement the coach’s instructions and perform strongly in order to put an end to our losing run. The last two games, against Al Gharafa and Al Rayyan, were the most difficult and we lost them. They both are competing for the league title.”
