Qatar’s Al Rayyan have their task cut out when they face the UAE’s Al Wahda in the fourth round of AFC Champions League on Monday. The kick-off is at 18:20 Doha time at the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Al Rayyan, who finished fourth in the recently-concluded QNB Stars League behind Al Sadd, Al Duhail and Al Sailiya in that order, are third in Group B with three points. The Lions are placed above Uzbekistan’s Lokomotiv, who also have the same number of points.

Al Wahda and Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad, both on six points, are first and second in the group respectively.

Al Rayyan had opened their campaign on a disappointing note, losing 1-5 to Al Ittihad. However, they bounced back brilliantly and beat Lokomotiv 2-1 before crashing 1-2 to Al Wahda in Doha in the last round.

So, the Qatari side has a point to prove when they meet Al Wahda in the UAE capital. The group stage is past the halfway mark and a victory will boost their hopes of making it to the knockout round.

Al Rayyan will rely on the attacking abilities of Rodrigo Tabata, Gelmin Rivas, Sebastian Soria and Lucca Borges. They will also have the services of the likes of Abdulrahman Al Harazi and Koh Myong-Jin.
