Karim Boudiaf is one of the most prominent players in the QNB Stars League. He is a strong presence in the midfield of Al Duhail, who are set to take on reigning champions Al Sadd in Week 9 of the QNB Stars League on Saturday, 2nd November, 2019.
Boudiaf spoke to qsl.qa ahead of the big match in an exclusive interview.
Are Al Duhail capable of extending the winning streak?
Al Duhail always have the ability to win. The team is back to its best and succeeded in winning the last five games. This confirms that we’re determined to have our way. Positive results give the players more confidence on the pitch.
What’re your expectations of this game?
It’ll be a difficult game as both teams will target three points. What matters the most for us is to have the fighting spirit. No one can predict the result of these kind of games.
Which players are most dangerous in Al Sadd?
Al Sadd have outstanding players such as Akram Afif, Hassan Al Haydous and Baghdad Bounedjah, but we’ll go into the match without looking at individual names. Inshallah, we’ll win this clash.
Are you worried that Al Duhail will fail to achieve their targets this season?
We aren’t worried about anything. We’re working hard to achieve our targets set for this season. Our targets are always titles.
What’re your team’s ambitions?
Certainly, regaining the league shield and winning other titles are our targets. We’ll work hard to achieve them. The biggest ambition is lifting the AFC Champions League trophy.
What do you say to your fans?
I want them to come to the stadium and support the players. Fans always give a positive push. We’ll work hard to make them happy.
