Al Ahli lost to Turkish team Edirnespor by a 0-3 margin in a friendly match played during their pre-season camp in Turkey on Wednesday, 18th August, 2021. The camp will continue until 22nd August.

Al Ahli’s technical staff, led by Montenegrin Nebojsa Jovovic, gave the reserve players chance as he rested most of the professional players with the exception of defender John Benson.

Even though they lost the match, it was a valuable experience for Al Ahli players as they faced a strong team among the top Turkish First Division clubs.

Al Ahli played a number of friendly matches during the camp, which began on the 2nd of this month, where they defeated Gabonese Pelican club 1-0 and Turkish team Dargaspur 2-0. The Brigadiers lost to the Oman Olympic team 0-1.

In other action, Al Ahli defeated Al Kuwait 3-2 and Turkey’s Baykospor 1-0.

Coach Nebojsa was keen to give the opportunity in these matches to a large number of players, so they could return richer by technical experience.
