Qatar SC defeated Al Shamal 2-0 in their rescheduled fixture from Week 17 of 2025-2026 season Doha Bank Stars League at the Al Bayt Stadium on Monday.

Qatar SC cashed in on defensive flaws of Al Shamal as Ahmad Al Rawi (eighth minute) and Joao Pedro (18th minute) struck from the centre of the box to deliver early blows on their rivals.

In added time of first half, Qatar SC’s Ali Saoudi was sent off with a red card after he made a dangerous challenge against Al Shamal’s Baghdad Bounedjah.

The result saw Qatar SC’s tally of points move to 35, while Al Shamal remained on 37 points.

Al Shamal tried hard to make a comeback in the second session with repeated attacks but despite coming close on several occasions, they failed to score.

Adding to their woes was a powerful kick from Naim Sliti which found the centre of the crossbar in the 70th minute.
