Al Markhiya coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2026-2027 season Jetour League Week 3 match against Al Rayyan NextGen.

“These were two very good rounds for us. We managed to keep a clean sheet and score six goals. We are also improving step by step, especially offensively, and we are much better than we were two weeks ago.

“We still need to develop. There are always many things we can improve, and we are still far from reaching the level we aspire to,” said Asbaghi.

Al Markhiya player Sofyan Cola said, “My goal in the last round was important because it contributed to the victory. I am happy, of course, and I thank the coach for his confidence in me. I work all week for moments like these, and when the opportunity arose, I seized it. It was instinctive.

“What matters most to me is serving the team, regardless of individual awards, and I will continue to work, develop and give my best.”
