history
The origins of Mesaimeer Sports Club date back to 1996, when it was established as a football team under the name Al Nahda Sports Club in the Al Maamoura area of Doha.
The club was officially registered in 1998, with a founding General Assembly comprising residents of the area. A Board of Directors was subsequently elected, while the club adopted a new name, becoming Al Shoala Sports Club.
A major milestone came in 2000 with the opening of the club’s official headquarters in the Mesaimeer area under the supervision of Qatar Olympic Committee. The facility featured sports and administrative amenities as well as a football pitch providing the club with a permanent base for its activities.
Following the establishment of its headquarters, the club focused on attracting local residents and developing players across different age groups, from grassroots levels through the first team. This approach helped lay the foundations for the club’s continued development and participation in domestic competitions.
In 2004, the club was renamed as Mesaimeer Sports Club, taking its name from the district where it is based.
The club reached a significant milestone in its footballing history when its first team earned promotion to Qatar Stars League and made its debut in the competition in 2015-2016 season. The achievement represented an important chapter in Mesaimeer’s development and strengthened their presence in Qatar’s football landscape.
