Lekhwiya striker Yusef El Arabi picked up the prestigious Mansor Muftah award as the top scorer for the 2016/2017 season at the QFA awards on Saturday evening. 

Moroccan striker El Arabi enjoyed a standout first season with the Red Knights, bagging 24 goals in just 18 appearances for the side. El Arabi made a dream start to his Lekhwiya career scoring on his debut against Muaither. More goals followed for the former Granada striker including three hat-tricks against Al Shahania, Al Khor and Al Arabi. 

El Arabi’s goalscoring feats are more impressive considering that he traveled to Gabon to represent Moroccan at the AFCON tournament in January. Despite missing four weeks of action, the striker stuck seven further goals, to seal his status as top scorer along with helping Lekhwiya lift their fifth ever QSL falcon shied.
