Al Gharafa coach Christian Gourcuff spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 2 match against Al Sailiya.

“We made mistakes galore in the last game against Qatar SC. We did not play our natural game. We had many problems. We gave chances for our rivals to score. In fact, we created more chances than them.

“The main thing for my players to focus is not to lose the ball easily. They must not be slow while on the ball and move fast. When you play an open game, like how our players did against Qatar SC, you must also be wary of the counter-attacks.

“We should be striking the right balance between our attack and defence. When you lose the ball, you must win it back quickly. We are correcting the mistakes.

“Al Sailiya are tough opponents. They are playing under the same coach (Sami Trabelsi) for long. They lost the first match and will be badly looking for a victory. So we must play a charging game against them.

“I have to find more solutions to our problems. Fr example, Diogo (Amado) played as a defender in the last match. It is better for him to be in his original position of the midfielder,” said Gourcuff.
