QSL side Al Wakrah has announced the capture of striker Pablo Zeballos. The Paraguayan attacker, who represented his country at the 2011 Copa America, has signed a one season deal with the Blue Waves. This is the second signing for Al Wakrah in the summer transfer window having recently announced the signing of striker Pablo Olivera.

The 30 year old striker will be seen as an ideal replacement for last season’s top scorer Sasha who left the club for Arabian Gulf League side Emirates after failing to agree a new contact with the club.

The signing means that Al Wakrah has confirmed their professional contingent of four players for the 2016/2017 season. Zeballos and Olivera are joined by Iraqi defender Ali Rehema and Moroccan midfielder Mouhcine Moutouali, who have been retained for another season.

In other news, Al Wakrah has confirmed two further friendly games ahead of the start of the QSL season.  Mauricio Larriera’s side will take on the QSL champions Al Rayyan in a friendly on the 5th of Septmber and conclude their league preperations with a friendly clash against Qatar Gas league outfit Qatar SC. Wakrah open up their QSL campaign with a tough away fixture at El Jaish.
