Al Sadd are one of the most successful club sides in Qatar football and have lifted the league title a record 14 times.
The club was formed in October, 1969, after a group of students decided to form a local football club in the area of Al Sadd, Doha. The club's logo colours are black and white.
Nicknamed The Wolves, Al Sadd have won a number of trophies. In 2011, they clinched the AFC Champions League title for the second time in their history, after 1989. They finished third in the FIFA Club World Cup, also in 2011.

Al Sadd’s Felix Sanchez is one of the distinguished coaches who achieved success with Qatar football.
He began his coaching career with the Barcelona youth team before moving to Aspire Academy in Doha.
He coached Qatar’s Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 national teams before guiding the Qatar national team in 2017.
Sanchez took Qatar to triumph at the AFC Under-19 Championship in Myanmar in 2014 and also guided the Qatar Olympic team to the final of AFC Under-23 Championship in China.
The most prominent achievement in his coaching career came when he guided Qatar to their first title victory at the AFC Asian Cup in 2019.
He also had a stint with Ecuador’s national team whom he coached in several tournaments, the last of which was the recent Copa America in the US.
