QSL side Al Wakrah fell to defeat in their first friendly match of their preseason camp in Turkey. The Blue Waves lost 3-0 to local side Erzurumspor.Despite the defeat, the match was an opportunity for head coach Mauricio Larriera to test his squad out ahead of the new QSL season. In the match, Erzurumspor took an early lead and added two quickfire goals in the second half to secure the win.
Wakrah are now set for further friendly ties in Turkey before returning to Qatar on the 26th of August. The club will then begin to focus on the their first tie of the QSL season, when they will take on El Jaish.
