QSL side Umm Salal has suffered a major injury blow ahead of their round 22 match against Al Ahli. Umm Salal’s medical staff confirmed that midfielder Mohammed Al-Malki has ruptured his cruciate ligament and is expected a lengthy stint on the sidelines for his team.
Al-Malki suffered the injury in the round 21 clash against Lekhwiya. The injury will be seen as a major blow for Bulent Uygen’s side with the midfielder a current mainstay of the team.
In other team news, Umm Salal will be without Wellington for their match with Al Ahli. The Brazillian defender will be serving a one match suspension, after he picked up his fourth yellow card of the season against Lekhwiya.
Umm Salal are currently fifth in the QSL standings, and will play Al Ahli on Saturday evening at Ahli stadium, KO 18:00pm.
