Umm Salal presented their new signing Oussama Darragi at a Press conference held at the club’s premises on Tuesday.

The Tunisian midfielder was unveiled in the presence of Umm Salal Sports Club President Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani and Vice-President Sheikh Tamim bin Mohammed Al Thani.

Umm Salal, placed fifth in the QNB Stars League standings with 16 points, signed Darragi as replacement for Moroccan Youssef Sekour, whose contract was terminated by mutual consent recently.

The deal with Darragi is till the end of this season with a clause to extend it for one more season.

Shaikh Hamad wished Darragi all success with the club, saying he was added to the squad after much thought and after rating him as the best choice in the present scenario.

Darragi expressed his delight to have joined the Umm Salal ranks and be playing in the QNB Stars League. He promised to do his best towards the team’s cause.

“I know the Qatar league well because of the presence of a number of Tunisian players, including Al Duhail captain Youssef Msakni. I hope to be a good addition to the squad and also make the fans happy in the second half of the season,” said Darragi.

The 30-year-old was the first signing by any Qatari club in the winter transfer period that started on 1st January and will end on 31st January.

The Orange Fortress will play Al Kharaitiyat at the Al Khor Stadium in the opening fixture of 12th round on 11th January.
