QSL side Al Gharafa have been dealt a major injury blow, announcing that midfielder Thamer Jamal is set for a six month stint on the sidelines after suffering an injury in his sides 2-1 defeat to Al Sailiya.

The club took their official website late last night to confirm that Jamal’s season has come to a premature end after snapping his Achilles tendon in his right foot during the round eleven game.

Jamal underwent the surgery immediately on Monday evening at ASPETAR hospital,  were he was was greeted by club officals and team-mates who wished him well after his successful surgery. The former Umm Salal midfielder will now begin the long road to recovery and has been penciled in for recovery in sixth months’ time.

In other news, Al Gharafa has continued training ahead of their round twelve match up against top of the table El Jaish. Pedro Caixina’s side is set to take on El Jaish on Thursday evening at Lekhwiya stadium.
