The Qatar Stars League Management (QSLM) convened a technical meeting on Wednesday ahead of the Qatar Cup semifinals.
The meeting, held at the QSLM headquarters at Al Bidda Tower, was chaired by QSLM’s Competitions Department Director Ahmed Al Adsani and attended by representatives of the four competing teams — Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa — as well as Qatar Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee.
Ismail Ahmed (Al Duhail), Abdulaziz Al Jaidi (Al Sadd), Omar Al Azani (Al Rayyan) and Abdullah Al Shammari (Al Gharafa) represented the clubs.
A number of matters related to the semifinal matches’ organisation were discussed.
The teams’ jersey colours were also decided — Al Duhail (full red), Al Sadd (white), Al Rayyan (red & black) and Al Gharafa (full yellow).
The meeting stressed the need for players to co-operate fully with the referees and abide by their decisions.
The tournament’s format is one-off semifinals and final. The semifinals will pit the first against fourth-placed team and second against third-placed side in the QNB Stars League. In case of tie after regular time, matches will be decided in tie-breaker without extra time.
The semifinals will be played on 21st and 22nd April, and final on 27th April. All matches will kick off at the Al Sadd Stadium at 19:00.
Al Sadd will play Al Rayyan in the first semifinal, followed by the encounter between Al Duhail and Al Gharafa.
