Round ten of the QSL season saw five attackers step up for their sides to pick up vital wins. In our regular feature Stars of the league, we highlight the players who put in a performance to aid in their sides victory.

Al Sailiya grabbed only their second win of the season thanks to a solitary header from Sayaf Al-Korbi midway through the first half. The twenty five year old midfielder was alive in the box when it mattered to pounce on a mistake by Muaither keeper Basil Zedan.

It was a big win for Sami Trabesli’s side which saw them sneak out of the relegation zone for the first time this term. Al-Korbi put in a solid performance in midfield getting the better of Muaither, particular in attack. Sailiya will be aiming to get a positive result when they take on Al Gharafa in round eleven.

Likewise, Al Arabi have seen an upturn in fortunes in recent week and registered their first victory in six QSL games with a 2-1 against Al Shahania.  Speedy striker Imoh Ezekiel was at the heart of The Dream Teams good work in attack in this match, and was duly awarded for his efforts notching the winner for his side on the 72nd minute.

It has taken the young Nigerian striker some time to settle following his return to the club on loan. However recent performances would suggest that he is back to his best and is looking to fire Al Arabi up the QSL standings.

Al Gharafa is now on a run of five straight wins in the QSL following a confident 2-0 win over Umm Salal on Wednesday evening. The Cheetahs are really coming into their own under Portuguese coach Pedro Caixinia, and are in good shape to make a challenge of getting into the top four.

One player who has stood out in recent weeks is attacker Kendrick Johson, who opened the scoring after 55 minutes. The Brazilian born player showed bags of confidence in calmly going past Umm Salal keeper Baba Malick and slotting into the open goal. Kendrick will be aiming to add to his tally of two goals in three QSL games when Umm Salal take on Al Sailiya in round eleven.

Moroccan playmaker Mouhcine Moutouali has been Al Wakrah’s best player for some weeks now and deservedly makes the list for his match winning performance against Al Khor in round 10. With minutes left in the first half the former Raja Casablana man smashed the ball into the Al Khor goal to give his side a unlikely lead.

Wakrah where pushed back in the second half and despite this Moutouali looked the most dangerous player on the pitch. Fortunately Al Wakrah held on for their first win of the season to pull off the bottom of the QSL standings. Moutouali will be aiming for another eye-catching performance for his side when they take on Al Rayyan next time out.
