QSL side Al Ahli have signed Mozambican international defender Simão Mate Junior as the Brigadiers continue to strengthen ahead of the 2017/2018 QSL season.
The club confirmed that the 28 year old has signed a one year deal with Ahli, who are managed by Spanish coach Joaquín Caparrós. Simão is a vastly experienced central defender and has enjoyed stints in Greece with Panathinaikos and China with Shandong Luneng most recently he was plying his trade with Levante of the Spanish second division.
Simão is now expected to join up with his new team-mates and start preseason training with his new side. The capture of Mozambican is Al Ahli’s second of the summer transfer window following the signing of Hamood Al Yazidi from Al Wakrah earlier in the month.
