Al Arabi are targeting a strong finish to the 2016/2107 QSL campaign, starting with a victory over relegation threatened Al Shahania. Dream Team Boss Osvaldo Olivera spoke to the local media ahead of the match.

Opening up the press conference Olivera admitted that his squad have come together in recent weeks. “We have lot’s of obstacles to face, our staff and our players have behaved so professionally. We have done very well to maintain our status in the first division.”

Arabi are taking on a Shahania side fighting for survival, and Olivera is expecting a battle on his hands on Saturday evening. “All of our last games have been a battle. I find that the games at the end of the season will always be tough, we know what Al Shahania will bring to this game they need the points but I am sure my side can come away with a positive result.”

The Brazilian coach ended his press conference with a kind word for striker Yusef Ahmed.“Yusef is a fast, direct striker. The moment I arrived, I tried to bring him back into the squad because I know he is important for Al Arabi, the club is very happy to have a player of his quality in our ranks.”

Al Shahania are in a relegation dog-fight and in desperate need of points to avoid the drop. Oryxes coach Igor Štimac spoke to the media ahead of the tie.

Štimac opened up the press conference stressing that the mood is strong in the camp, despite their perilous position. “Al Shahania is still fighting for survival, we are confident and positive in training. Now in these final games we hope to take our chances in front of goal and improve defensively to get the points we need to survive.”

“Arabi are the most popular side in Qatar, they started with big expectations, but the season didn't go well. I feel that Al Arabi are more concentrated on the cup competitions” added the Croatian tactitian.

Štimac also was quick to praise again the Arabi team, but insisted his side are more than prepared to fight for all three points.“Al Arabi have great individuals in the side, and we need to be at our best to win. I told my players yesterday that we need to run, fight and be at every second ball if we are to win against Al Arabi, we cannot give them time to realise their individual abilities.”

The Croatian coach ended his press conference with a rousing call for his side to preform. “All I expect is good football, I want my players to give 100% only then will be able to get the result we need.”
