Round 22 of the QSL season kicks off with one game on Thursday evening when Al Wakrah take on Meisameer at Al Wakrah stadium, KO 18:00.

Al Wakrah will be targeting a home win to push them away from the dreaded QSL relegation zone; Meisameer will be looking to build on their moral boosting 1-1 draw against El Jaish in round 21.

Mauricio Larriera’s side have been handed a timely boost ahead of the game welcoming midfielders Rúben Amorim & Abdurahman Mohammed back into the fold.

Wakrah will be looking for a repeat performance against Meisameer from their first leg clash. The Blue Waves ran out impressive 4-1 winners back in November. Current QSL player of the month Sasha bagged a hat-trick on the night, and will be looking to add to his tally of fifteen goals so far this season.

As for Meisameer, they grabbed their first point of 2016 with a 1-1 draw against high flying El Jaish. Even more impressive perhaps was that The Flames came from a goal behind to share the spoils, denying Jaish all three points with a strong rear guard performance.

Winter signing Wajdi Bouazzi scored a panenka penalty in the game, and Rodion Gacinin will be hoping that the Tunisian midfielder can be at his best to defeat Al Wakrah.
Thursday’s game promises to be a strong contest between two sides, which could have implications in the race to beat the drop into the Qatar Gas League.
