The Qatar Stars League (QSL) organisers discussed the new season’s marketing plan with the 14 member QSL clubs, during a meeting which was convened by QSL Events Director Hassan Al Kuwari. All 14 club marketing officers attended the meeting on Wednesday morning at the QSL headquarters at Al Bidda tower.

Mr Al Kuwari welcomed the club marketing officers and discussed the meeting’s main agendas, including the marketing goals and plans for each specific club.

The marketing plan discussed by Al Kuwari with the marketing officers consisted of a number of vital points, first of which was to activate two fans games in order to attract no less than 5000 fans.

Another important topic discussed in the meeting was the participation of the clubs with their local communities. Every club will plan to engage schools, companies and local communities as a way to create new fans and build positive bonds with them.

In addition each club will have to sign at least three memorandums of understanding with local schools, communities and various companies.

The third goal of the marketing plans is to do with the activities and events carried out for local communities. Each club should activate all of the MOUs; two events per each MOU, one of which will be during a match-day, whilst the second one should be within a local community or at the club itself.

The fourth aim of the plans will be to improve the match-day experience which will include advance planning by the clubs to give all spectators a positive experience at matches with the aim of making them come back again and again.

The fifth factor will be to do with club awareness, there will be a concerted effort to promote the clubs brand and make it stand out from other clubs, through using traditional methods of advertising and digital communications.

The meeting also covered other topics as well as time to answer any questions and get some clarifications with regards to the plan.

From his side Hassan Al Kuwari said that the marketing plans were clearly explained to the clubs ahead of the new season.

He said, "The club has been given a template and certain goals, we are encouraging the clubs to increase the number of events and activities using all available resources and social media which have a great impact on the fans.”
