Al Wakrah midfielder Ahmed Fadel has stressed that his side will have to be at their very best to avoid the drop into the Qatar Gas League. The attacking midfielder had an exclusive chat with QSL online at the recent media day event.
Fadel admitted that the pressure is on for Wakrah who just avoided relegation last term. “The league is shrinking this season to 12 teams, and we at Wakrah have to beat the drop. Our preseason was tough, but the coach has really brought the group together we are confident of a strong start.”
Despite battling relegation, Fadel is confident that The Blue Waves new signings can help the side. “We have two new signings who have just joined us from Uruguay and Paraguay. From what I have seen in training they will improve us 100%.”
Al Wakrah will open their QSL season off with a tough away assignment against El Jaish.
Bokila- Mubele convinced me to join QSL
Al Kharitiyat summer signing Jeremy Bokila believes that his new side is capable of avoiding a relegation dog fight this season. The Congolese international spoke with QSL online on the sidelines of the annual QSL media day event.
Opening up the interview, Bokila stressed how welcome he has felt since joining. “Kharitiyat have treated me very well, the players have been very welcoming and we had a long preseason and we are looking forward to the start of the league.”
This will be Bokila’s first experience of the Middle East; having played in China with Guangzhou R&F the striker is eager to make an impression for his new side. “The humidity was a big challenge at first for me, but I have settled down, got used to it and I am ready to fight in the QSL.”
Kharitiyat have made a host of changes this term, however despite the changes Bokila believed his new side can pull away from the relegation zone. “I think we have many new players but you can tell from preseason that our side is prepared, everyone is motivated to push up the league table.”
Ending our interview and Bokila also revealed that Al Ahli striker and compatriot Firmin Mubele recommended the move to Kharitiyat. “I spoke with Mubele, and he told me good things about the QSL and how it is a strong league in the region. Maybe this season we will be battling each other to be top goalscorer!”
Al Harazi happy with life at Al Sailiya
Al Sailiya attacker Abdurahman Al-Harazi believes that his side could have a chance of reaching the Qatar Cup places this term. The talented attacker had an exclusive chat with QSL online at the recent media day event.
“We have high standards at Al Sailiya, we are very ambitious this season and are aiming for a top four finish.” Al Harazi added: “The league campaign won’t be easy; however I believe that our performance will be much better than last season. We have stability in the team with keeping three of the professional players in addition to the same coaches.”
Concluding his interview, Harazi stressed his happiness with the club. “ I am looking forward to the new season, there are many rumors of me moving to another club. However I am happy here with Al Sailiya.”
