Substitute Adel Ahmad found the net in the 62nd minute. An own goal by Dragos Grigore in the 68th minute added to Al Sailiya's woes. Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth completed the rout with a fourth goal in the 72nd minute.
Al Gharafa is currently placed in 8th in the QSL standings with a tally of 30 points from 22 matches. It was Al Gharafa's second win in their last four fixtures. Seventh-placed Al Sailiya has 31 points from 22 matches. For Al Sailiya, it was their first loss in the last three matches.
Ahli beat Umm Salal
Earlier, a brace by Captain Mashael Abdulla (77 and 95) and a double by team mate Mouhssine Iajour (27 and 56) saw Al Ahli pick up three points against Umm Salal at Al Ahli Stadium. The win helps Ahli pull away from the QSL relegation zone.
A brace from Umm Salal striker, Abdulqadir Ilyas was too little too late for the Orange Fortress who registered their first defeat in six QSL matches. Ilyas scored in the 23rd minute in what was the first goal of the hard-fought clash. Ilyas also grabbed his second in the 80th minute to reduce Al Ahli's lead.
