The Qatar Stars League (QSL) hosted a Club Licensing workshop for all eighteen professional clubs in Doha on Thursday 17 March 2016 at the W Hotel. The annual event is hosted by the QSL to brief applicant clubs on the criteria required to attain a Licence for the upcoming 2016/2017 QSL & Qatar Gas League season.
Delegates from fourteen QSL sides and four Qatar Gas League side attended the workshop & presentations. Also in attendance was QSL CEO Mr Hani Ballan. Top of the agenda was the new AFC Club Licensing Administration System (CLAS), along with hands on training with the software.
Members of the QFA Legal Department where also on hand to give delegates an overview of the newest FIFA regulations, especially on working with intermediaries whilst representatives from Deloitte made a presentation relating to the financial criteria of Club Licensing.
Speaking on the success of the event, David Mc Veigh Director of Business Planning & Club Licensing at the QSL said; “Today’s workshop is the perfect opportunity to engage with clubs in an interactive way. We at QSL were able to give detailed information regarding alterations to the criteria and processes whilst club delegates could seek clarification and guidance in respect of same.”
The next step in the process is a series of individual club assistance visits to be carried out by the QSL Club Licensing administration.
