Qatar Sports Club defender Medhat Mostafa showed his appreciation to former Qatar Sports Club Head Coach Radhi Shenaishil for his time and effort at the club.

Under Shenaishil’s tenure, the club finished fourth last season and although things haven’t gone as planned this season, the club were eager to thank the outgoing coach.

Mostafa spoke with QSL online and said: “On behalf of the club and the players, I would like to thank Radhi Shenaishil whom we consider as our big brother and not just another Head Coach.”

On the signing of Sebastião Lazaroni
Commenting on signing with Brazilian Head Coach Radhi Shenaishil, Medhat Mostafa said: “Sebastião Lazaroni is not a stranger; he spent six full seasons with us, so he knows the team and the players very well.

He is considered a good option for the time being as he has prior experience with the club and a good coaching philosophy that will hopefully lead the team out of its current predicament. We as players would like to thank the QSC management for bring in Lazaroni as we prefer a coach who’s familiar with Qatari football rather than a totally new coach with no experience in Qatar.”

Commenting on the Round 7 fixture against Mesaimeer
“Mesaimeer is a team worthy of our respect as they joined Qatar Stars League for the first time in their history and also achieved their first win over Al Kharaitiyat in Round 6. Indeed their ambitions are to avoid relegation. Mesaimeer didn’t only perform well against Al Kharaitiyat but also against Al Rayyan and Umm Salal despite the losing.”

He added, “We consider all the league matches to be tough but we are seeking to rectify our status in the league. In my opinion we have two crucial games before the league break, the first of which is against Mesaimeer whilst the second is versus Al Khor. We are hoping to achieve positive results in both games in order to stay away from the bottom of the league table and return even stronger after the league restarts.”
