Al Sadd ended their 2017-18 QNB Stars League season with a 9-1 win over Al Kharaitiyat on home soil that saw a glut of goals in their Week 22 match on Saturday.

Baghdad Bounedjah (20th and 43rd), Ali Asad (33rd and 72nd), Akram Afif (36th, 45+1 and 53rd), Hassan Al Haydous (73rd) and Jugurtha Hamroun (84th-min penalty) scored the goals for Al Sadd.

Mohammed Qassem reduced the margin of defeat for Al Kharaitiyat in the 79th minute.

After Asad and Al Haydous came close to scoring, Bounedjah opened the floodgates with a close-range flick following a short cross from Al Haydous.

After Asad scored Al Sadd’s second goal, Akram made it a 3-0 cushion for them.

Minutes from the end of first half, Bounedjah produced a curling shot, but the ball bounced back after hitting the crossbar. However, seconds later, the Algerian striker scored again for what turned out to be his 16th goal of the season.

A minute into injury time saw Akram curl one past the Al Kharaitiyat goalkeeper for his second strike of the match.

Eight minutes into the second half, Akram completed his hat-trick as Al Sadd maintained their dominance.

Asad, Al Haydous and Hamroun then added to their personal tally as Al Sadd completed a huge win. It was Algerian midfielder Hamroun’s 12th goal of the season.
