Al Arabi coach Luka Bonacic spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 21 match against Al Gharafa.
“The three victories in a row, perhaps an achievement unheard of in the recent times with Al Arabi, have given us a big boost and we want to continue that in the last two games as well. At some stage, we even faced the relegation threat.
“Al Gharafa are a strong team. They are in good form, on the domestic scene and also in the AFC Champions league. We are expecting a tough game. We are doing our job. We are training hard every day.
“We have proved that we have quality. The players have grown in confidence even though we have had our ups and downs.
“The team management has been supporting us very well. Better finishing helped us win the last three games. Our defending was outstanding too. Players such as Khalfan Ibrahim, Diego Jardel and Kwame Karikari all came good. I am happy that Kwame woke up and delivered the goods.
“Al Gharafa have top players like Wesley Sneijder and Mehdi Taremi. We do not lag behind either. We will fight till the very end. Khalfan is a doubtful starter due to his injury,” said Bonacic.
