Al Rayyan and Umm Salal shared the spoils following a 2-2 draw in Week 21 of the QNB Stars League at the Qatar SC Stadium on Saturday.

Rodrigo Tabata (61st) and Abderrazaq Hamdallah (90+4) scored for Al Rayyan, while Mahmoud Mawas and Oussama Darragi found the mark for Umm Salal in the 65th and 75th minute respectively.

Al Rayyan rested a number of players, having been assured of the third position in the standings.

On the other hand, Umm Salal fielded their full squad in the match officiated by Salman Falahi.

The victory enabled Umm Salal to collect 32 points, but they are behind fourth-placed Al Gharafa on goal difference despite The Cheetahs losing to 1-3 Al Arabi in the day’s simultaneous kick-off.

Al Rayyan moved to 40 points.

Al Rayyan maintained their superiority in the first half by surging forward, while Umm Salal relied mainly on their Ivorian striker Yannick Sagbo through the right wing and Syrian striker Mawas through the left.

The fight was even as the teams took the half-time break goalless.

Both Al Rayyan and Umm Salal upped the ante in the second session.

The Lions took the lead after one hour through Tabata, but Mawas equalised for Umm Salal four minutes later.

Darragi then put The Orange Fortress ahead, only to see Hamdallah pulling Al Rayyan level moments before the final whistle.
