The QNB Stars League’s Week 20 action witnessed 19 goals and many star performances, with only two more rounds of games to be played. QSL Online highlights one outstanding player from each of the six matches.

Almoez Ali (Al Duhail)

Almoez Ali is one of the most distinguished stars of newly-crowned champions Al Duhail this season. It was no different last week in their 5-0 victory over Al Kharaitiyat. The young striker did not score a goal, but made four assists. Almoez has time and again proved his worth for Al Duhail, the only unbeaten side this season.

Qassim Burhan (Al Gharafa)

Al Gharafa goalkeeper Qassim Burhan contributed greatly to their 3-0 victory over Al Sailiya even though star Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi scored their goals. Qassim excelled below the bar with many brilliant saves and the victory helped The Cheetahs stay in the fourth position.

Oussama Darragi (Umm Salal)

Tunisian professional Oussama Darragi led the charge as Umm Salal grabbed three precious points by defeating Al Sadd by a 2-1 margin. Syrian Mahmoud Mawas netted their other goal as The Orange Fortress kept pace with Al Gharafa for the fourth place on 31 points, just one point separating the teams.

Mohamed Salah El Neel (Al Markhiya)

The spotlight was on Mohamed Salah El Neel when bottom-placed Al Markhiya beat Al Ahli 2-0. Leonardo de Souza had opened the scoring for The Oryxes in the first half, but it was El Neel’s penalty conversion at the death that sealed the issue in Al Markhiya’s favour. Overall, he had a good game.

Diego Jardel (Al Arabi)

Brazilian midfielder Diego Jardel scored two goals and set up the other netted by Ghanaian striker Kwame Karikari in Al Arab’s 3-1 win over formidable Al Rayyan. Jardel has been having a good season. He stands out in their ranks with his ability to go on the offensive. He has scored six goals this season.

Luis Jimenez (Qatar SC)

Midfielder Luis Jimenez played a major role in Qatar SC’s 2-0 win over Al Khor. Their first goal, scored by Brazilian medio Bruno Gallo from the penalty spot, resulted from a foul on Jimenez. The moves of the Chilean, who moved to Qatar SC from Al Gharafa in the second phase, created troubles for the rivals. It was The King’s sixth win of the season.
