The QNB Stars League’s Week 19 saw a total of 30 goals being scored compared to the 20 in the previous round. Obviously, there were many excellent individual performances. QSL Online highlights one from each of the six matches.

Khalfan Ibrahim (Al Arabi)

Playmaker Khalfan Ibrahim was the orchestrator for Al Arabi’s 3-1 win over Al Markhiya. Diego Jardel converted from the spot after the penalty was awarded when Khalfan was brought down inside the box. The wily player was in the thick of the action for The Dream Team. 

Wesley Sneijder (Al Gharafa)

Dutch star Wesley Sneijder had an influential role in Al Gharafa’s 6-1 win over Al Rayyan. The attacking midfielder scored two goals and provided the assists for those netted by Abdelaziz Hatem, Diego Amado and Mehdi Taremi. Muad Hassan rounded off The Cheetahs’ tally.

Yasine Chikhaoui (Al Ahli)

Yasine Chikhaoui contributed greatly to Al Ahli’s 3-2 win over Al Kharaitiyat. He scored one and set up the match-winning goal netted by fellow-Tunisian player Hamza Younes. Chikhaoui rose the highest from a corner and his flick-on was perfect for Younes to divert into the back of the net.

Helal Mohammed (Al Khor)

Helal Mohammed helped Al Khor collect three precious points as they defeated Al Sailiya 2-1. He scored the winner as Al Khor earned a dramatic late victory. Helal, who came on as a substitute, found the net with a brilliant move. Madson was their other scorer.

Bruno Gallo (Qatar SC)

Midfielder Bruno Gallo scored a goal as Qatar SC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Umm Salal. The Kings were behind by two goals by the 20th minute, but they fought back in style to share honours. Gallo’s goal came via a well-taken penalty kick.

Youssef Msakni (Al Duhail)

Tunisian attacking midfielder Youssef Msakni played the captain’s role to perfection as he inspired Al Duhail to a 4-3 win over Al Sadd in a crucial encounter. Msakni is now second in the list of QNB Stars League top scorers with 21 goals, two behind team-mate Youssef El Arabi.
