The QNB Stars League Week 18 was also marked by some star performances that had major impact on their teams’ results. QSL Online highlights one from each of the six fixtures.
Baghdad Bounedjah (Al Sadd)
Baghdad Bounedjah produced yet another brilliant display as he fired in four goals in Al Sadd’s 5-0 victory over Al Ahli. The Algerian striker was in devastating form. He is compensating for his long, injury-enforced layoff. Bounedjah is very much among goals and had scored four times in Al Sadd’s two AFC Champions League matches recently. His tally is 12 in the top scorers’ chart.
Khalfan Ibrahim (Al Arabi)
Khalfan Ibrahim played a prominent role as Al Arabi earned three valuable points following their 2-1 victory over Al Kharaitiyat. Khalfan scored the first goal with a free-kick as The Dream Team recorded their third win in the QNB Stars League to move up by one place from 11th in the standings with 15 points.
Yannick Sagbo (Umm Salal)
Yannick Sagbo one again proved his worth as Umm Salal achieved a crucial 1-0 victory over Al Sailiya riding on his goal. The Ivorian striker’s goal at the Al Gharafa Stadium made such an impact that The Orange Fortress displaced Al Sailiya from the fourth position in the standings with the victory as they moved to 27 points, two more than The Peregrines.
Aden Ali (Al Markhiya)
Aden Ali played an influential game as Al Markhiya pulled off a coup against formidable Al Gharafa. He did not score, but was instrumental in their 3-2 victory, their only second in this season’s QNB Stars League. More importantly, Al Markhiya achieved it after being down by two goals. Aden provided the assist for their first goal scored by Abdelkader Ilyas. Brazilian Eric de Oliveira added the other two goals.

Ismail Mohammed (Al Duhail)
QNB Stars League table toppers Al Duhail have many star performers and Ismail Mohammed is one among them. He scored the opening goal in their 4-0 win over Al Khor that took their points tally to 48. The Red Knights thus stayed as the only unbeaten side in this season’s competition. Ismail caught the eye with his moves.

Saoud Al Khater (Al Rayyan)
Saoud Al Khater has to be credited for keeping the Al Rayyan citadel in tact. The goalkeeper brought out an excellent performance, in the process effecting many saves in their 4-0 win over Qatar SC. The one that thwarted Ali Awad, who found himself unmarked in front of the goal in the 80th minute, stood out.
