The QNB Stars League’s Week 14 witnessed some star performances on all days of action. QSL Online highlights one from each of the six games, played over Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Hassan Al Haydous (Al Sadd)

Qatar international striker Hassan Al Haydous struck in the 73rd and 87th minutes, after Algerian midfielder Jugurtha Hamroun scored in the 33rd and 45th, to take Al Sadd past hosts Al Gharafa 4-0 on Thursday. The strikes of Al Haydous, who has not been among goals of late, came in a spell of 14 minutes. He was assisted by Hamroun for the first, while the second was a close-range effort. The 27-year-old took his tally to four goals this season.

Wagner Ribeiro (Al Sailiya)

Wagner Ribeiro contributed two goals to Al Sailiya’s comprehensive 4-1 victory over bottom side Al Markhiya on Friday. It was a much-needed win for The Peregrines, who had gone winless for five consecutive matches. Wagner scored in the 66th and 87th minutes. Wagner’s first goal was a penalty earned when Valentin Lazar was brought down in the area. He netted the second by taking advantage of a defensive error, taking his tally to 10 goals this season.

Osama Omari (Qatar SC)

Osama Omari scored his first goal in Qatar after the QNB Stars League side recruited him recently in the winter transfer window. And the goal enabled The Kings to pull off a 1-1 draw with Al Arabi on home soil on Friday. After Al Arabi went ahead through Abdel Rahman Mansour in the 26th minute, Omari found the target in the 46th. The Syrian striker produced an unstoppable shot from distance that left goalkeeper Masoud Zarayi with no chance.

Yassine Chikhaoui (Al Ahli)

Attacking midfielder Yassine Chikhaoui celebrated his return from a one-match injury layoff by scoring Al Ahli’s equaliser against Umm Salal. The Tunisian, who had missed their last-round match with Al Khor that ended in a 2-2 draw due to muscle cramp, stole the show with his all-round performance.   Chikhaoui pulled strings in the midfield and also made many attempts at the rival goal. He had even earned a penalty, which Meshaal Abdullah sent over the bar.

Madson (Al Khor)

Attacking midfielder Madson was the star of the show as Al Khor beat Al Kharaitiyat 2-0 on Saturday. It was The Knights’ first win in the QNB Stars League’s second phase. After setting up Cameroonian striker Ariel Thierry for the first goal in the 11th minute, Madson found the mark four minutes later with a curling shot that sailed above Al Kharaitiyat goalkeeper Ahmed Sofyan’s head and into the net. It was the Brazilian’s fourth goal this season.

Abderrazaq Hamdallah (Al Rayyan)

Abderrazaq Hamdallah’s two goals, albeit one through penalty, helped Al Rayyan creditably hold leaders Al Duhail 3-3 in their high-profile match on Saturday. The display of the Moroccan striker, who has been performing consistently well, assumed great significance because Al Rayyan fought back into the game after being down by two goals and even took the lead before half-time. Hamdallah thus became the joint-second top scorer with 11 goals, alongside Youssef Msakni.
