Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League Week 1 match against Al Kharaitiyat.

“The players are ready to play a strong match. Our approach will not change and we will continue to work on what we have built over the past years. Facing Al Kharaitiyat will be difficult, but we will do our best to achieve victory.

“We have well-known players as our new recruits — South Korean Jung Woo-Young and Spaniard Gabi Fernandez, and I am very happy with their signings. We are more strong, but we should not take our rivals lightly.

“Our goalkeeper Saad Al Dossari still needs some time to recover from an injury. We are not bothered about surprise results. We have a strong squad and we will do our best in all matches,” said Ferreira.

Al Sadd goalkeeper Saoud Al Hajri said, “It is difficult to get the season off on a winning note, but we will work to provide our best right from the Al Kharaitiyat game and collect points.”
