The Qatar Football Association General Assembly congress approved the proposal to extend the competency of the QFA Executive Committee until 2018, during its meeting held on Wednesday the 14th of December 2016 in the Diplomatic Club chaired by H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani – QFA President – and the presence of its board members:Ahmed Al Boainain, Hani Ballan, Ibrahim Al Mohannadi, Khalifa Khamis and Ali Al Thawadi.

The General Assembly also approved the election of both Khalifa Al Sulaiti and Ali Al Thawadi representing QSL clubs Lekhwiya and Al Sailiya respectively.

The General Assembly witnessed the approval on the ordinary general assembly meeting minutes held on 15/12/2015 as well as the approval of the QFA President's activity report since the last general assembly meeting.

Noting that meeting also witnessed the submission of the unified and audited budget, the statement of profits and losses account, the financial statements and budget approval. Also Mr. Mubarak Farag was appointed as the Chairman of the Electoral Committee which shall be formed within a month.

At the beginning of the General Assembly meeting, the QFA President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani addressed the attendees and stated: “We are all well aware that we have sought as a system concerned with a game of football to achieve the vision of the QFA in 2021 to become distinct in leadership, creativity and success, and the task of the QFA in this is to work at all levels to discover, highlight and develop the Qatari talents through the professionalism and transparency of the work and do not lose sight of the mutual trust and cooperation with all the QFA affiliated clubs to achieve this vision."
