The board of trustees for the QFA awards headed by HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, head of the Qatar Football Association have confirmed nominees for a number of awards up for grabs on the May 21st event, along with some explanation to the voting process for the awards.

Firstly a host of voting forms have been passed around to key stakeholders in football to vote across the following categories: Best U23 Player, Coach of the year & Player of the Year. The following individuals have been asked to make their choice:

Trainers Qatar Stars League teams
First team coaches
 A representative of the Qatar Football Association
 A representative of the Qatar Stars League 
Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees for the Qatar Football Association Awards.

Based on the returned nomination forms, the following players have been shortlisted for the awards:

Best U23 Player- Ahmed Moein (El Jaish) Abdulkarim Hassan (Al Sadd) Ali Asad (Al Sadd)

Coach of the year- Jorge Fossati (Al Rayyan) Yusef Adam (Al Ahli) Sabri Lamouchi (El Jaish)

Player of the year- Rodrigo Tabata (Al Rayyan) Abdulrazak Hamdullah (El Jaish) Meshal Abdulla (Al Ahli)

The Trustee’s also confirmed again that the Mansor Muftah award, which is given to the top scorer in the QSL season will be shared between Al Rayyan’s Rodrigo Tabata and El Jaish’s Abderrazak Hamdallah. Both strikers grabbed 21 goals this term.

The remaining awards will be distributed on the evening of Saturday the 21st of May at the QNCC.
