The Qatar Stars League Management (QSLM) announced the organisational arrangements for the Qatar Cup final, to be played at the Al Sadd Stadium on Friday, 27th April. The kick-off is at 19:00.

QSLM’s Marketing and Communications Acting Executive Director Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari and Competitions Department Director Ahmed Al Adsani revealed the details at a Press conference held at the Al Sadd Sports Club on Wednesday.

“We are expecting an exciting final and a thrilling finish. The preparations for the tournament had started right after the QNB Stars League. The preparations for the final are also in full swing, in close co-operation and co-ordination with our partners, sponsors and all stakeholders,” said Hassan.

“Tickets are fast selling out and there are designated areas for families at the stadium. We held co-ordination meetings with representatives of the two clubs and stadium security. The gates will open at 16:00 and spectators are urged to abide by the rules and instructions given by security personnel.

“There will be entertainment programmes for all age groups, starting from 16:00 until the start of the match at the venue. The event area also includes all facilities such as restaurants and places for prayer,” said Hassan, who extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the QSLM’s partners, sponsors and stakeholders.

“This will be the third successive Qatar Cup final Live Snapchat Story, after two successful seasons. The number of viewers in 2016 was more than 1.5 million, while that exceeded 1.8 million in 2017. It is expected to be more this time around. I hope fans will enjoy the event in a big way,” he added.

Valuable prizes are up for grabs for fans. They include five cars (one Land Cruiser, three Camrys and one Yaris) offered by Abdullah Abdulghani & Brothers, the dealer of Toyota as well as Lexus cars in Qatar and a sponsor of the Qatar Cup.

Business class air tickets and a range of electronic devices are also on offer for fans.

Ahmed stressed that all preparations for the final were in place.

“The preparations are in accordance with the high importance attached to the game. I urge all spectators to reach the venue well in advance to avoid crowding. The match will go straight to penalties without extra time in case of a tie after regular time,” said Ahmed.
