Umm Salal face Al Arabi in the fourth round of QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Saturday.
Umm Salal’s Egyptian coach Mahmoud Jaber stayed optimistic that his team would put it across Al Arabi.
“We’ve had a wonderful start to the season and we’re keen on continuing that way. Against a team like Al Arabi who’ve a good reputation and some outstanding players, we must give off our best in order to register a victory.
“The QSL Cup games helped us give chances to players who didn’t play much in the first three rounds of the league. It was good in a way that they all are ready ahead of the match against Al Arabi.
“Our target is high this time too and we take it game by game. Syrian professional player Mahmoud Al Mawas played two tough games against Australia in the World Cup Asian zone qualification play-off and I’ll have to talk to him and see if he’s ready to play. We’ve equally-good two players in each position and a strong bench, and I’m happy with my players’ performances,” Mahmoud said, adding they didn’t feel pressure to stay in the top-four position.
