Al Sailiya lock horns with Al Ahli in round eight of the QSL season. The match will take place at the Al Ahli Stadium this Friday.
Al Sailiya had their first win of the season in their last game against Al Kharaitiyat. The Peregrines are still in the drop zone in twelfth place with five points from seven games.
Sami Trabelsi, the head coach of Al Sailiya is happy with his team’s last result, “We are very motivated after the positive result in the last game. Now we are facing a team with a strong attack and experienced players. So it will be a tough game for both teams. Both teams need points and we will try to get points and try to get some new signings to reinforce the teams.”
“After the win, we are feeling as usual. We are playing without some of our important players and it’s like boxing without gloves. We need some attackers. With this group, we can't do big things but if we have some offensive players we can have better results,” added the Tunisian head coach at the press conference on Wednesday.
He even gave an update on Faouzi Aaish’s fitness, “Faouzi Aaish was injured but now he is getting better. Maybe he will play in this game and for sure he will be back in the match against Lekhwiya.”
Al Ahli under their new coach Yousef Adam have lost one game and drawn the other. The Brigadiers will be gunning for a win against Al Sailiya.
Yousef Adam, the head coach of Al Ahli, wants his players to be on their A-game against Al Sailiya, “All the matches are important for us and we play them for victory. Sailiya is getting better and better with each game and we consider this an important game. Sailiya is a serious opponent so that’s why we have to play well.”
Speaking about the last game Adam added, “It was an important game against Umm Salal for us. After the loss against Al Rayyan, we needed the three points. Both teams came to win unfortunately we missed a penalty and we received only one point.”
“We are doing our best to win hopefully we will the next game, we are getting better and better. We are facing Sailiya at their best and I don’t care about the spirit of Sailiya. We regard all the teams the same and we will play to win regardless of the other team’s name,” added the Qatari tactician.
