Al Khor takie on Al Sailiya at the Al Arabi stadium on Saturday evening during round 25 of the QSL. This important game is key for both teams who are looking to improve their league position in the final rounds of the season.
Khor are currently in tenth position level on points with Al Wakrah. They have twenty nine points from twenty four games. After obtaining a point against Khraitiyat in their last game the Knights have secured there spot in next season’s QSL.
Jean Fernandez, head coach of Al Khor, is hoping for a flourish from his side, “We are guaranteed to stay in the QSL after our last result against Khraitiyat. We have two games left, one against Sailiya and one against Gharafa and in these two games we will try to improve our position in the table.”
Fernandez and his team will try to make amends after a poor result for them in their last encounter with their opponent, “Sailiya is a competitive team. They beat us 2-0 in the first half of the league and we will try our best not to repeat this result and get a win.”
“We wasted the victory in the last two minutes of the game but overall I am satisfied with my team’s performance,” said the sixty-one-year-old when asked about last week’s game against Kharaitiyat.
Al Sailiya sits in eighth position in the QSL table with thirty-two points after a close 3-2 defeat to Al Sadd in their last outing. The Peregrines will fight to get back to winning ways in their match against Al Khor.
Sami Trabelsi, head coach of Al Sailiya, believes that both teams will play without much pressure, “This is the penultimate match and both sides are far from the danger zone. The game has no danger for both teams. Both teams have no pressure but we have to take this game as preparation for the Emir Cup.”
“We have to increase concentration. Al Khor are a very organized team, I respect Jean Fernandez he is a very good coach. He took his team from a very dangerous situation and made them improve in the table,” added the Tunisian tactician who was full of praise for his counterpart.
Al Sailiya have conceded many goals this season and their coach believes they need to improve their defensive acumen, “We have a big problem in defensive area. We have lot of individual and collective mistakes. The season is almost finished now so we can’t change much now but for next season we must change some things in defense.”
Trabelsi ended his conference with some injury updates; “Abdulkarim Al Ali and Dragos Grigore will miss the game and we will find the substitutes for them."
