Al Kharaitiyat take on Umm Salal on Thursday evening, head coach Amir Osim gave his thoughts on the game to the local media.
Opening the press conference the Bosnian tactician reflected on his sides 3-1 defeat to Al Rayyan, last time out. "We have to try to show that the last game wasn’t bad luck. We played well although the result didn’t follow. We have to repeat those good things, if we achieve this, we have a good chance in all teams in the league. We have to preform again at a good level and i hope we can get a result against Umm Salal.”
The Thunders are currently in the relegation zone, however Osim is confident his side can pull away from the drop zone starting with a result against Umm Salal. "Our results are in correlation, of last season. Everyone expects Al Kharitiyat to be near the bottom, We expect and want more I have a feeling we are much better than this and we will show this in our next match.”
"We need our momentum to change, and our performance to match the result and gain confidence in football the wind can change, and I think this will happen with our club.” Noted the Bosnian coach at the Wednesday morning press conference.
Osim ended his press confernce with a word on the opposition, Umm Salal. "They are very solid in defence, and I expect a close game they also don’t score many goals we have to try to convert our chances. Umm Salal and Al Kharaitiyat are similar teams, we cannot afford to miss chances
in such games the side who is more concentrated to kill the game, will kill the game”
As for Umm Salal they fell to a 4-2 defeat to title chasing El Jaish, head coach Bülent Uygun gave his thoughts to the media ahead of the round six match.
"Our game last time against El Jaish, was hard we missed key players our team gave our best, but we played one of the best teams in the league, so our result is understandable” explained the Turkish Tactician.
Both sides are on similar footing in the QSL standings, and Uygun is targeting a win to kick-start his sides season. "Al Kharitiyat are at the same level as us. We have similar ambitions, we must give our all in this game. My target has always been to improve the performance and standing of Umm Salal in the QSL."
Umm Salal have been slow to start in the QSL this team, however Uygun believes his side can push for a fourth placed finish. "For us every game is for winning, sometimes you miss your targets. Umm Salal showed lots of concentration last season, and we gave a good performance. This season we have good professionals, and local players missing. We trust our new players and we hope they bond with the side, and i am am confident we will push on."
Umm Salal missed the key trio of Yannick Sagbo, Baba Malick and Anderson Martins for the defeat against Jaish, and Uygen revealed the trio have a good chance of playing against the Thunders. "No doubt, our game against El Jaish the missing players they are our key players in the side, they effected our team performance. They all have a 70% chance of playing and god willing they will help our side against Al Kharaitiyat.
