Al Kharaitiyat go head to head with Umm Salal in a bid to avoid relegation to the Qatar Gas League. The match will take place on Friday at the Al Khor stadium.

Kharaitiyat are twelfth and dangerously close to the drop zone as they are only one-point clear of Qatar SC. A win against Umm Salal will confirm the Thunders will stay in the QSL next season.

Amar Osim, the head coach of Kharaitiyat, is hoping that his team can step up and rise for the challenge, “We hope we are ready for this challenge. We are working on it and we know that there is no possibility to repair things after this last game.”

“The good thing about the game is that we know exactly what we need. If we want to decide our situation this time we know that if we win we are ok. In this context the situation is clearer,” added the Bosnian tactician.

Speaking about the upcoming match Umm Salal, Osim added, “I don’t think this is an easier match. I hope it is. Umm Salal will want to go up in the table and for sure they will not go down. They are a serious team and they have played very well all season long.”

Kharaitiyat defeated Al Wakrah last week but Osim believes that Umm Salal is much stronger opposition, “Umm Salal is a very difficult team even more than Al Wakrah. Umm Salal is 5th and Al Wakrah is 11th so to be 5th is a big achievement in this league.”

Kharatiyat’s position could be affected by the result of other matches but their coach is not concerned about that, “I don’t want to talk about the other games I just want to focus on our match. We are all motivated to win,” added the forty-eight-year-old.

Umm Salal are in fifth place in the QSL standings after their defeat to El Jaish last week. The Orange Fortress has thirty-eight points from twenty-five games and they will hope to end the season on a high note.

Bulent Uygun, the head coach of Umm Salal had some words of encouragement for all the teams at the end of the season, “Our game is a difficult as it’s the last game of the season. We wish the best of luck for all the teams’ if they get relegated or stay in the league. Our games since the beginning of the season have been tough and this game decides who is relegated.”

“I would like to thank our team and Sheikh Faisal. Our game should represent Umm Salal and all that this club stands for, I hope to win this game,” added the forty-four-year-old at the press conference on Wednesday.

Uygun also highlighted Kharaitiyat’s weakness this season, “Kharaitiyat is a good team with strong players. They play well till seventy minutes but have a problem in the last twenty minutes and we will try to capitalize on this,” added the Turkish tactician.
