Al Kharaitiyat  are currently marooned in the QSL relegation zone and take on a Al Shahani who have impressed since the start of the season, Kharaitiyat head coach Ahmad Al-Ajlani gave his thoughts to the media ahead of the game.

Opening up the press conference Al-Ajlani talked up his opponents. “Al Shahania is a tough opponent and this is a crucial game for this club. I hope that my players will be ready and give their all going into the game.”

“We are similar sides, we want to win and reduce the deficit in the league. It’s a difficult because we lost our last two games 1-0 so we must score in this game” noted the Tunisian coach at the Thursday morning press conference.

Talk turned to Al Kharaitiyat’s squad who has been under criticism in recent weeks. Al-Ajlani  was eager to focus on the improvements of his side in his brief time in charge. “We have focused on defence and we have only conceded twice in two games now it is time to attack. It is too early to talk about foreign players we want to sign, we have to focus on the players that i have at the moment.” 

Ending the press conference, Al-Ajlani talked up his own team, stressing that The Thunders are looking for the win. “I appreciate the reaction of the players and the team now i have arrived and we have to keep this good feeling going on the pitch, starting with a positive result against Al Shahania.” 



Al Shahania head into their match against struggling Al Kharaitiyat off the back of a 2-2 draw with Al Wakrah in round nine. The Oryxes are currently ninth in the QSL standings with nine points. Ahead of the Friday evening game at Al Khor stadium head coach Jose Fernando gave his thoughts to the media. 

Opening up the press conference Al Shahania head coach Jose Fernando noted that the tie will be a tight affair. “This is an important game, I know Kharaitiyat are needing points and have changed their head coach they will be targeting a big result against my side.” 

“This game is like a final for us against Al Kharaitiyat, we are at the same level and we have to give our best for win we need to stay away from the relegation zone and a win will help us in our goal” added the Portuguese tactician when asked about his aims from the game. 

Fernando also talked up the fighting spirit in his side after grabbing a point in the 2-2 draw with Al Wakrah; “This was a strong point of our team, I am very happy that we fight and battle all the way to the end against Al Wakrah . My team has shown it has plenty of personality and that is a positive for us. 

Ending the press conference, Fernando talked up leader scorer Mohamed Tiaiba. “The confidence of the strikers is important for the team, Tiabia has scored five goals and we know that if he scores more goals his confidence will grow and improve. I hope for the sake of the time that our striker scores goals and aids in helping Al Shahania in this moment.”
