Al Gharafa are looking to register their first victory in this season’s QNB Stars league when they lock horns with Al Khor on Saturday.

Al Gharafa coach Jean Fernandez told the pre-match Press Conference that they were all focused on collecting three points and thus getting into winning ways.

“The team wasn’t set in the beginning and couldn’t start the league campaign well. Ahead of this match, we’re concentrating only on scoring a victory as we must be collecting maximum number of points. Initially, we tried many combinations and we were closer to victory too. However, luck wasn’t on our side and we lagged behind when it mattered the most.

“We’ve many new players and a new-look team capable of going for victories. The QSL Cup matches during the fortnight-long break gave us chances to test youngsters as they needed to play more matches.

“Playing more matches means gaining more confidence and achieving more co-ordination for the players. We’re getting good support from the team management. So, hopefully, we can look forward to more positive results.

The Frenchman concluded the conference by saying “We’re eagerly looking forward to play against Al Khor, where I spent two seasons.”
