Al Gharafa coach Jean Fernandez spoke to the media ahead of their QNB Stars League match against Al Sailiya.
“Al Sailiya are a well-organised side. Their local as well as professional players are a good mix. And they’ve perhaps the second-best attack line in the tournament. We’ve a lot of respect for them.
“Al Sailiya are becoming stronger after every match and we’ve to be really wary of them. They’ve just entered the top four on the back of some strong displays.
“We’ve prepared well and will try to get victory from this game. We won’t play for a draw. We know their strengths and weaknesses. We’ve a winning mentality.
“I expect my players to put a memorable performance. I need more efficiency from our strikers. We’ve scored only eight goals from seven matches, so our scoring rate has to be improved. It’s true that we’re in sixth position in the standings, but we just have to score more and more goals. Otherwise, it’s difficult to win matches.
“Definitely, it’ll be a keenly-fought encounter and fans can look forward to a treat as well,” he said.
