Al Arabi go head to head against Al Sailiya in the last round of the QSL. The match will take place at the Al Ahli Stadium on Saturday evening.

Al Arabi sits in sixth place in the QSL standings with thirty-five points. The Dream Team will be gunning for the three points as they come back after a disappointing draw against Al Mesaimeer.

Gianfranco Zola, the head coach of Al Arabi is concerned about strange situation his club in in, “It’s a strange position the one we are in at the moment. If we beat Sailiya with a good result we might be fifth but if we lose we might be 9th. We will be missing Ashkan Dejagah and Paulinho who are important players for us.”

Speaking about his upcoming opposition Zola said, “Of course they want to beat us as they are two points behind and they will not have to play an extra game in the Emir Cup. We lost the last match to Al Sailiya 2-0 and it will be a revenge match for us. It a team we want to keep behind us and we will try to win this game.”

“We played well in the last match but we are just missing the last touch, the last pass or the last finish and goals. We need to prepare for that,” added Zola speaking about Al Arabi’s stalemate against Mesaimeer.

“I’m not happy with the result we have achieved so far. We lost some important points and we could have been in a very different position if we had those points. But I have a clear plan for next year. It’s been a good year for me, I learned a lot about the place, about the people and about the league and I am grateful to coach this team in this league,” added the forty-nine-year-old.

Al Sailiya are ninth place in the QSL standings with thirty-three points. However, they are only two points behind their sixth placed opposition.

Sammi Trabelsi, the head coach of Al Sailiya had this to say about his next match, “We hope that this match will be a good one for us. Al Arabi are a good team, they have some inconsistencies and we will try to exploit that. This match is also preparation for the Emir cup.”

“We will play the match to the best of our abilities. We had some difficulties in this season but we can compensate for that in the Emir cup,” added the Trabelsi at the press conference on Thursday.

Al Sailiya have been struggling with consistency this season and they hope not to continue this trend next year. “We win against some good teams and we win a lot of games but we lose a lot of points in the easy games. Our problem for this season is that we don’t have a lot of players, we don’t have a proper bench and we also conceded a lot of goals. if we need to improve next season we need to improve our defense,” added the forty-eight-year-old.
