It seems like Al Arabi have turned the corner in recent weeks registering their first win in six games. Aguirre is confident his side can keep the winning run going. “The big challenge is the turnaround in games at the moment, but we need to keep up the organisation and the ability to kill the games that we have shown in the last two games.”

“Against Al Shahania and Al Wakrah we have created more chances and this showed we have changed in recent weeks. Hopefully this will make our fans and the management happy” noted the Brazilian coach.

Aguirre ended the press conference stressing that his side can exploit Al Khor in this game. “We respect Al Khor, they are a well organised team who defend well. However like all teams in the league, they have weaknesses and we will be looking to exploit this.

As for Al Khor, they have been struggling in recent weeks and will be aiming for a timely win to bolster their survial hopes. French head coach Jean Fernandez spoke to the media ahead of the  tie.

Opening up the press conference Fernandez stressed that his side need to be wary of Al Arabi.“We are facing a good team in Al Arabi. They are coming from a victory and we are coming off the back of some bad results so we need to take care.”

“We didn't play well against Al Wakrah, we had two injuries a defeat against a relegation rival was difficult for us to take” added the French coach.

Fernandez also noted that he will be without two key strikers for the away trip to Al Arabi. “We will be without Madison and Iajour for this week, this doesn't mean we will play defensively our aim as always is to attack. Al Arabi have good professional players in attack so we will have to be aware of this.”

Ending the press conference Fernandez admitted that his side need to bounce back against Al Arabi on Wednesday evening. “The side has not been at their best at the moment because of injuries, the important thing is how we recover from this bad moment that we are in, starting with this game.”
