Al Duhail’s Moroccan striker Youssef El Arabi was named the best player for the month of October, according to the official statistics of QNB Stars League.

El Arabi, a consistent performer who scores goals almost at will this season as well, had a particularly good time in October. He found the mark seven times from three matches even though he could give only one assist and cross each during the period due to his distinctive style of play.

That El Arabi took all his shots from inside the box and was less tackled proves most of Al Duhail’s moves were aimed at him. The wily player executed the team’s strategy in the process, taking his total tally to 11 goals on top of the scorers’ chart.

He spent 285 minutes and covered 9.5km on the pitch, taking three shots on target, all from inside the box, on an average in each match. He also made 24 passes out of which 18 were successful.

Al Duhail defeated Al Ahli and Umm Salal, while they were held by Al Gharafa during the month. And they lead the QNB Stars League standings with 16 points after six rounds. El Arabi’s goals greatly contributed towards his team’s good position in the leader board. Going by current form, he looks set to break his last season’s top-scorer record of 24 goals.

El Arabi is a regular with the Morocco national team since 2000, scoring 15 times from 37 matches.
