Al Shahania coach Jose Murcia spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 21 match against Qatar SC.

“I congratulate the players, management, technical and administrative staff, and fans on our stay in the Ooredoo Stars League. The match against Qatar SC will be difficult against a team that plays good football and are experienced in the league. We must not forget that Qatar SC were one of the teams in the Amir Cup final last season.

“Moreover, Qatar SC, with their coach, managed to achieve three consecutive victories before faltering in some matches due to absences and they will return in this match. Therefore, we must be cautious and make a great effort to achieve a positive result.

“We are happy with the addition of Hamdi Nagguez. I knew him well from his time at Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel and I am confident in his ability to contribute to the team,” said Safri.

Al Shahania player Petrus van Amersfoort said, “We achieved our desired goal and made progress step by step, but our mission is not over yet. We have two matches in which we want to improve our position in the standings. We are preparing hard for Qatar SC as they are tough opponents and we realize that everything comes with effort.

“I am happy to be a target for the team and I am happy to be at home, but what is most important to me is not scoring goals, but rather helping the team achieve victories.”
