Al Duhail coach Christophe Galtier spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 20 match against Al Shamal.

“We must take the match against Al Shamal seriously in order to continue our path to a successful league title.

“Due to my mother’s health and my sudden travel to France, I was unable to speak to the players after the last match against Al Gharafa, but I would like to express my complete confidence in the level the team demonstrated in this match.

“I was in constant contact with the coaching staff to monitor the team’s preparations for the upcoming match against Al Shamal during my absence. I was very pleased with the players’ commitment and seriousness.

“Of course, we are approaching the match against Al Shamal, who has been performing at an advanced level and has achieved positive results in their recent matches. As I mentioned previously, our focus must be solely on the next match, without looking at the rest of the matches, and I am pleased with the players’ performances over the past period,” said Galtier.

Al Duhail goalkeeper Salah Zakaria said, “We have three final matches to win the league title, starting with the upcoming match against Al Shamal. Our focus, as instructed by the coach, is on organizing our attacks and trying to finish them perfectly and quickly.

“We also need to maintain defensive discipline against a team with distinguished offensive players like Baghdad Bounedjah. We hope to enter the match with a high level of focus and be able to secure the three points.”
