Al Rayyan coach Arthur Jorge spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 20 match against Al Sadd.
“We will have a difficult match as it is against one of the teams competing for the league title.
“No one here is happy with our performance in the previous match against Al Ahli, so we consider this match important for us to change the team’s character, because we want to perform better than we did in the previous match. We consider the remaining three matches to be like a final for us and no one can play for Al Rayyan without a winning mentality.
“I trust the players because these types of matches do not require motivation. Everyone wants to play these types of matches, because this match is different from others. We will give everything we have and make the match difficult for them.
“Regarding the absence of Julian de Sart, I would say that I would have preferred Julian to be present and whoever plays this match in this position will certainly do the best for the team,” said Arthur Jorge.
Al Rayyan goalkeeper Sami Baladi said, “We realize how difficult the match will be. Al Sadd are a strong team competing for the league, but we are aiming for the three points. The last match between the two teams was intense and decided in the final minutes, and this match will be different.
“We treat every match with the same intensity. We have three matches that are considered three finals. We still aspire to be in the top four and this is football. No one can predict. We know the difficulty of Qatar Clasico and everyone wants to play. The match will not be easy for Al Sadd.”
